Ian Yves Ancheta is a Swedish/Filipino dancer and choreographer based in Norway. In 2019 he finished his dance bachelor studies at ArtEZ University of the Arts, with a minor in choreography.

Ancheta's work is centered around the pursuit of releasing the human ego. In his creative world, he envisions an endless journey to dismantle human greed and our drive for power and recognition. Keenly aware that beauty lies in contemplating the impossible, he finds a sense of playfulness and creativity in imagining a utopia, which allows him to explore new perspectives while addressing some of the challenges we face today.

Ancheta’s artistic practice reflects his ongoing personal journey, weaving together lessons from the past and hopes for the future, grounded in the present. Growing up in a developing country, he has faced numerous challenges but chooses to create works that promote positivity and the improvement of our human community. He believes in emphasizing resilience and self-growth, moving beyond the impulse to revisit narratives of suffering.

Recognizing that humans are instinctively driven by survival—quick to sense threats, seek comfort, and secure safety—Ancheta's work aims to make audiences aware of this tendency. He encourages viewers to explore new ways of confronting discomfort, embracing the pain that comes with letting go of the ego.

Between 2022 and 2024, Ancheta’s notable works, Titta På Mina Tutar, and An Unconventional Striptease toured multiple European theaters, including Dansens Hus Oslo, Korzo den Haag, Bellevue Theater Amsterdam, GCD Kluize Oosterzele, and TR Rotterdam. His full-length performance Bare Klem, co-produced by Bærum Kulturhus and funded by Kulturdirektoratet and Nordic Culture Point, premiered in 2024. He has also created commissioned works for companies like Panta Rei Danseteater (NO), Conny Janssen Danst (NL), Dance Well (IT), and NoXsense (SE). As a dance collaborator and co-creator, Ancheta has contributed to works by Ingri Fiksdal, Ingrid Berger Myhre, Jo Strømgren, Carl Aquilizan, Belinda Braza, Bianca Hisse, Anne Ekenes, Pia Holden, and Jules Fischer.
